Instituto Diálogos is launched in Brasília on Feb. 25 with an agenda of proposals for national development

The nonpartisan organization will bring together the public, private and academic sectors to propose guidelines for sustainable development in light of global geopolitical and geoeconomic shifts.

At a time when geopolitics and geoeconomics are reshaping global production and supply chains and shifting the relative weight of the major powers on the map, Instituto Diálogos emerges to put these issues on its agenda and to discuss Brazil as one of the leading players in the new global landscape. This environment puts pressure on costs and competitiveness and creates trade barriers. It also intensifies competition for energy, food and other strategic inputs.

In addition to promoting high-level technical discussions, Instituto Diálogos will work to present proposals that can give rise to, or be incorporated into, sustainable socioeconomic development projects. In the words of Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS), Instituto Diálogos “aspires to build projects for the country.”

In this context, Instituto Diálogos will foster the active participation of leaders from the public, private and academic sectors in study cycles committed to this goal.

The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization was launched on February 25, 2026, in Brasília, with Senator Tereza Cristina as Chair of the Board of Directors. Its founding members are the companies Corteva, Cargill, Cocamar, F.S., Banco Itaú, Hidrovias do Brasil, Tereos and Yara. The launch was attended by federal officials and business leaders, among others.

– “Our mission is to present a project for sustainable national development, committed to a fairer and more democratic country,” sums up Tereza Cristina, who conceived Instituto Diálogos.
The agenda of discussion topics will be diverse

Based on a predefined calendar, the participants brought together by Instituto Diálogos will debate selected topics such as the new global geoeconomics; the system of checks and balances among the three branches of government; obstacles to entrepreneurship; food security; energy security; and the climate issue.

– “None of the past generations experienced the issues now before us. It is challenging, and some may even find it burdensome, but as business leaders, politicians, professionals, journalists, entrepreneurs, workers, students — in short, citizens of this country — we have no right to ignore this responsibility,” says Tereza Cristina.

The proposals will be developed in study groups, seminars, events, workshops and conferences. The results will be available on the organization’s website, in seminar livestreams and interviews, in e-books, webinars, mini-documentaries, and articles and interviews published in digital and traditional media, and in papers and videos intended for public managers, academic communities and non-governmental organizations. “Amplifying the knowledge generated by Instituto Diálogos is an indispensable condition for achieving its goals,” says Tereza Cristina.
